Regional Recognition for an Exemplary Public Debt Strategy
On Friday, March 27, 2026, the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire was honored at the BRVM Awards 2026 ceremony, receiving the prestigious “Operation of the Year – Bonds” award. This distinction, granted by the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM), recognizes the most outstanding financial transactions carried out on the capital markets of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).
The BRVM Awards are among the highest distinctions in the financial sector in West Africa. They recognize issuers, transactions, and market participants that have made significant contributions to the dynamism, depth, and modernization of the regional financial market.
By winning this award, Côte d’Ivoire further strengthens its position as a leading player on the West African financial stage.
A Landmark Two-Tranche Bond Issuance
This distinction celebrates the remarkable success of Côte d’Ivoire’s sovereign bond issuance, structured in two complementary tranches. Tranche A, corresponding to TPCI 5.90% 2025–2030 (TPCI.O95) with a five-year maturity, raised CFAF 239,078,040,000. Tranche B, issued as TPCI 6.00% 2025–2032 (TPCI.O96) and maturing in 2032, raised CFAF 219,676,130,000. In total, the operation generated CFAF 458,754,170,000 in funding, reflecting the strong and renewed confidence of regional investors in Côte d’Ivoire’s sovereign creditworthiness.
Côte d’Ivoire: Driving Innovative Sovereign Debt Management
This achievement is part of Côte d’Ivoire’s ongoing proactive debt management strategy. Through regular and transparent communication with investors, the country has built a lasting relationship of trust with the regional financial community, further enhancing its attractiveness in the WAEMU bond market.
By receiving this award, Côte d’Ivoire reaffirms its position as a model of financial discipline and innovation in West Africa. It also demonstrates that the mobilization of domestic resources remains a key driver of both national and regional economic development.
